Top 3 Oscar Gowns (and Honorable Mentions)

The Most Ravishing Dress Awards Go To:
(in no particular order)

Penelope Cruz in periwinkle blue Giorgio Armani.

Michelle Williams in coral Louis Vuitton. (I wasn't impressed by this at first because the color on my t.v. screen was off...Then I saw the true color online and was wowed).

Emma Stone in fuchsia Giambattista Valli.

Honorable Mentions
(These Ladies Also Looked Incredible):

I really liked the Armani Prive dress worn that Ellie Kemper wore. I thought the colors looked amazing with her skin and hair.

I don't so much love the color of Octavia Spencer's Tadashi Shoji gown, but I think the cut is absolutely flawless on her. She could not have picked a more becoming shape for her body. Octavia's acceptance speech for best supporting actress was the only one of the entire program that moved me to tears.

I love these colors on Jessica Chastain. However, I think this McQueen creation would have jumped to the top of my list had the bottom of it been fitted. I would have preferred to see it in a mermaid-style or even a sleek and simple column shape sans the train. For me, this would have balanced out the amazing embellishment and detail.

What do you guys think about these gowns? Were there others that you loved/hated? Feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts. :o)

Bill Cunningham

I just watched this delightful documentary about New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham. He is known for having an amazingly discerning eye for street fashion. Bill's refreshing take on the insignificance of celebrity and riches when it comes to dressing oneself is a revelation in our current money and status-oriented culture. He is a genuine artist that sees beauty in the every day. Check it out for yourself and enjoy:
