(Don't) Blame Canada!

(Don't) Blame Canada!

For some reason, some Americans look unfavorably upon Canada. Perhaps it is the Northern accent. (If that's the case, those from the U.S. can't really point fingers...We have a myriad of ridiculous regional intonations in this country!)

Maybe it is the fact that Canada seems to lay low and, well, generally mind its own business politically and militarily. This bothers some of us, for unknown reasons.

I'm not sure what the rationale is behind any disdain toward Canadians/Canada, but I find it to be completely unfounded! Canada is an absolutely beautiful place with tons of culture, fascinating history and some delicious cuisine (smoked meats or poutine, anyone?) Also, how can you dislike a place that produced amazing folks like Neil Young, Dan Aykroyd, Joni Mitchell or Jim Carrey? Yeah, I didn't think so. ;o)

This week I found a few vintage Canadian items for the Jeezum Crow Vintage Etsy shop that were too cool to pass up:

This amazing Toronto Sweatshirt, circa late 1970s / early 1980s:

And this neat Québécois Backpack from 1992:

Whether you're from Toronto, Montreal, or just love the country in general, these items are the perfect opportunity to show off your Canadian pride.

I haven't yet been to Toronto or Quebec City, but they are both on my short list of vacation destinations. I'd better hurry up and renew my passport!

Happy Travels, Friends.

XO,

Jeezum Crow.

Hilarious Fashion Faux Pas

Fashion Faux Pas + 1970s = Big Laughs:

Is it just me, or does everyone in these ads look like Burt Reynolds? Also, I kind of wouldn't mind owning those horoscope pants!

Fashion Slideshow an Elegant Farewell to Mad Men

Is anyone else bummed that Mad Men has arrived at its completion? If so, this may quell your longings for Peggy, Joan, Don and the rest of the gang.

The New York Times Magazine (which is pretty amazing, mind you) has compiled some of the show's best costumes for our retrospective perusal.

I agree with most of the choices presented therein, and was glad to revisit them.

Summer style inspiration, anyone? Check it out at the link below:
